what's that ... just a 3D swimming pool?
Optical Illusion Pool

The photo you're watching above, look like a deep swimming pool.

But in reality no pool is there, what gives the impression of a pool is actually a painting. The 50-foot long 3D pool is actually 2D painting on a flat carpet, which makes only sense if one watch it from certain point if view.

Optical Illusion Curtains

this bizarre optical illusion will blow your mind
'The Ames Window' is actually a trapezoidal window with a stick running through it. When the window is rotated slowly, our mind gets confused by its shape and rotation style.

  • Though the window is trapezoid-shaped, yet it appears to be a rectangle-shaped &
  • Though it is rotating continuously in one direction, yet it appears to be oscillating .. means, rotate through 180 degrees and then seems to stop for a moment and reverse its direction of rotation.
Adelbert Ames, Jr., an American scientist who created famous 'Ames Room illusion' is the man behind this mind-bending visual tricks.

is that really an intricate classic video game level?

What you see is not a video game level nor the biker a video game character. Rather, it's a real 'freestyle bike course' and the rider is a real human being, fixed gear biker Josh Boothby.

Red Bull's "Fixed Perspective 3D Bike Course" combines optical illusion floor painting along-with biker's skill to make us fool into thinking we're actually watching a video game level.

Watch the video below to understand how the artists transform a bike course into a video game level by expertly painting it in red and gray.

BTW, this is a great example of forced perspective optical illusion, means.. this illusion only works from certain point of view, from any other direction it will loose it's illusion ability.

which pink box is hovering higher?
Floating Boxes Optical Illusion

Comparing the shadows, anyone can come to the conclusion .. all of these three pink cubes are at different height. Far right cube being hovering even higher above the surface than the other two.

But, it isn't TRUE. All of these cubes are calmly placed on the checkered-pattern surface.

It's the placement of square shadows that makes us fool. The lower the shadow (beneath cubes), the higher the cube seems hovering.
